Volunteer Guidelines

 

Welcome Volunteers! 

 

Payson Unified School District (PUSD) truly appreciates the volunteers that serve our schools and community. Volunteering is rewarding for everyone whether they participate in the school office, classroom, playground, or on field trips. Volunteers enrich the educational experience for all PUSD students. Please see below for the application requirements and approval process.

 

The process for volunteering with PUSD contains three (3) key steps.  We ask that you complete all 3 steps in a timely manner.

 

1) Background Check Authorization - Soon after receiving your application to be a volunteer with PUSD, you will receive a request for background check authorization from Liberty Screening.  You will receive this request via email and/or text message. It is imperitive that you complete this authorization within three (3) days of receiving it, as Liberty Screening sets these to expire automatically.  If your background check request expires, your volunteer application will become null and void.

 

2) Fingerprinting Requirement - Volunteers are required to be fingerprinted. If you currently have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, please upload and attach it to your application. If you do not,  please schedule an appointment with the Payson Police Department to obtain the $5.00 ink prints. The prints must be returned to the Human Resources Department located at the District Office sealed.

 

3) Criminal Affidavit - Please have the linked Affidavit form notarized and upload a copy with your Volunteer application. The Human Resources Department can notarize the Affidavit, but only by appointment.  Please contact Human Resources at (928) 472-5877 to schedule an appointment.

 

Additional Requirements for Sports Volunteers: Sports volunteers must be at least 21 years of age. All sports volunteers must have completed two coaching certifications: Concussion in Sports and Fundamentals of Coaching. You can complete these two courses online at https://nfhslearn.com/. Please upload your certificates to this Volunteer application.  Applications without both certificates attached will be considered incomplete.
